Phenomena - 4K Remastered Release by Arrow Video

3-Disc Set With 3 Different Versions

Dario Argento’s Phenomena (1985) was released in different versions for several markets. In the UK, the film was cut for the BBFC 18 rating on VHS (see comparison) and the US got a censored “R”-rated version (see comparison).

Now, Arrow Video has announced an ultimate release on Blu-ray based on a new 4K master. The 3-disc set will feature the film in three different cuts: the uncensored version, another cut version for e.g. German and British audiences (see comparison), and the “R”-rated version, also called “Creepers version”.

The specs of the release are as follows:

New audio commentary by Troy Howarth, author of So Deadly, So Perverse: 50 Years of Italian Giallo Films

The Three Sarcophagi, a new visual essay by Michael Mackenzie comparing the different cuts of Phenomena

New feature-length documentary including exclusive interviews with co-writer/producer/director Dario Argento, actors Fiorenza Tessari and Davide Marotta, co-writer Franco Ferrini, production manager Angelo Jacono, special optical effects artist Luigi Cozzi, makeup artist Pier Antonio Mecacci and composers Claudio Simonetti and Simon Boswell

Original Italian and English theatrical trailers

Limited edition 60-page booklet containing new writing by Mikel J. Koven, Rachael Nisbet and Leonard Jacobs
