Deadpool is Officially Rated R When the announcement was made that the Deadpool movie was aiming for the "R" rating, fans cheered joyfully and the anticipation for the film's theatrical release rose tremendously since the chances to get a film that is true to the character were much higher now. The most recent MPAA newsletter made it official:
Unfortunately, there's currently no info on whether the film had any of the NC-17 trouble the producers anticipated but maybe that surfaces later on. But not everyone seems too happy about the rating for grown-ups as a petition shows that aims at asking 20th Century Fox to produce an additional PG-13 version for the kids.
