A brief comment on the old German DVD, as we compared this as well: The introductory logo differs here. Otherwise, the version is frame-accurate and identical to the old German Blu-ray and also the new 4K Blu-ray = regular original theatrical version.

The remixed version, on the other hand, starts with a 'remixed' image panel and an alternative reference to Starlight Films.

The following credits have also been revised, and music already starts playing in the remixed version.

00:23-00:24 / 00:23-04:05

While the remixed version begins with Moff's introductory words late in the sequence (which is slightly earlier than in the original, where another scene is shown alongside his voiceover), the original version introduces all the protagonists with their names displayed. This part has been moved to after the opening credits in the remixed version – more on that below.

00:40-00:41 / 04:22

The last shot of Moff before the opening credits is slightly longer in the remixed version. Incidentally, the new song is already mixed in here.

The opening credits themselves are also designed differently: other shots of people celebrating and different fade-ins; in the original, these were always briely on a black background. In addition, the remixed version dispenses with all the black-and-white shots of political protests in between. The song accompanying it is also different: instead of Fatboy Slim's “Build It Up, Tear It Down,” mentioned in the intro, the song used here is “U Know Y” by Moguai, which was released in 2001 after the original theatrical release. Finally, only the original version features the title screen.

Now the characters are also introduced in the remixed version. The text panels have been replaced and the remixed version features a stylized zoom out from the shot of Jip.

As described in the introduction, the remixed version showed Moff's last words right at the beginning after the logos. At this point, the remixed version therefore concludes with a different, exclusive take of him proudly announcing the name of a newly conceived club anthem. This is followed by a separate title screen.

After the Jamaica comment, the remixed version shows another close-up of a butt, this time taking a drag from the joint. Lulu then comments that you can only really talk to a total of three people at college.

In the original version, Lulu and her friend are simply shown looking perplexed again at the end of the scene.

After Jip jokingly mentioned that he is raped by his boss, he talks about it in detail directly to the camera in the remixed version. He expresses himself in particularly angry terms (“fucked in the arses by the corporate wankers at the top”) and finally says that the Antichrist has long been living among them.

In the original version, there is an alternative shot of him in which he speaks way shorter (and therefore the scene feels more comedic) about the Antichrist off-screen.

14:02 / 14:29-16:07

While the remixed version continues immediately with Jip's drive to his mother's house, the original version first shows a scene with Moff. A voice-over comment explains that people like him, who don't have a job, end up dealing drugs. However, he is actually a nice guy, far removed from characters like Scarface. After a friendly greeting and a quick glance at what is presumably baking powder used to cut drugs, Moff sells a small packet to his acquaintance Trixie. She only gives him a tenner, which he criticizes. Trixie is amused by this and offers him some “Billy” with a mischievous look. Moff agrees with a grin.

Before the vision of the conversation with his mother's suitor in the car, the phone rings in the remixed version and Jip has tears in his eyes. He fends off the caller by claiming that his mother died in a car accident last night. Jip takes another breath and walks out the door.

In contrast, the original version takes more time for an emotional moment from Koop. After greeting his father euphorically, he immediately sits down again, looking dejected. His father wonders when he will finally be allowed to go home, and when Koop doesn't have a real answer, he says that they are probably both in danger. When he then adds, "Things could be worse, you know. If it could be you in here amongst all these fucking headcases," they both have to laugh a little.

The remixed version has an additional scene with Nina and her brother Lee. She asks how things are going at home and Lee talks about his father's missteps. He thinks he's a great comedian and amusingly recounts how a recent talent show apparently didn't go so well, of which we also see a short mini-excerpt.

The subsequent shot of Koop talking dirty on the phone then begins a moment earlier.
