Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman

Comparison:

  • US VHS / UK DVD
  • US DVD
Release: Sep 02, 2009 - Author: Mike Lowrey - Translator: klepp - external link: IMDB
The sequel to the horror comedy Jack Frost should definitely not be taken seriously because it offers its viewers a trashy splatter-nonsense that people will either find funny or embarrassing. The movie was released in two versions. But the censored version was not simply cut but uses alternative footage in almost every splatter scene which is why there is hardly a difference in the running time. The censored version was made for US-TV and is identical to the UK-DVD and the US-VHS. If you are in for the gore you will most likely prefer the US-DVD version.

But also when it comes to the technical aspect the uncensored version is far superior to the censored one which only offers a full screen image. This is also the reason for the different aspect ratios of the screenshots.

This is a comparison between the cut German FSK 16-DVD (identical to the UK-DVD and the US-VHS) and the uncut German Keine Jugendfreigabe-DVD (which is identical to the US-DVD) (both from epiX).

28 changes, 1 cut

The censored versions is longer at 9 occasions resulting in 2.4 seconds.
The uncensored versions is longer at 10 occasions resulting in 4.92 seconds.
