Voyage of Time Gets 2 Versions Originating from the spectacular scenes filmed for Terrence Malick's Tree of Life, the documentary Voyage of Time will likely hit theaters in 2016 and deal with the beginning and ending of the universe as we know it. In the US, the film is planned to be shown in an IMAX version first. It is also partly financed by the IMAX Original Film Fund that was initiated explicitly for such cases. But the IMAX version has a disadvantage, as well. While the pictures shown there will be spectacular to look at, the film itself will be considerably shorter in this format with a runtime of only 40 minutes. The 35mm version for regular cinemas will have a runtime of normal theatrical films (so most likely at least 90 minutes). Brad Pitt will narrate the IMAX version, Cate Blanchett the 35mm form. A release date has yet to be announced.
