House on the Hill Heavily Censored in the UK

Over 7 Minutes of Cuts for Serial Killer Horror

Films with sexual violence have a hard time at the British BBFC and censorship is a consequence that often follows in order to make a release in England's retail possible. I Spit on Your Grave 2, The Hospital or Found are good examples for that. And House on the Hill is the next entry on that list. It is based on the life of serial killer Leonard Lake and had to be cut by a whopping 7 minutes in order to get the BBFC's 18 rating:

This work was cut. The cuts were compulsory. To obtain this category cuts of 7m 12s were required. Details of cuts below may contain spoilers or plot details.

Cuts required to remove or reduce scenes of sexual and sexualised violence. Cuts required in line with BBFC Guidelines, policy and the Video Recordings Act 1984.

House on the Hill will be released in the UK on January 19th, 2015.
