Black Nativity gets Extended Musical Edition Black romantic comedies from the US are so heavily tailored to their target audience that they mostly don't stand a chance in foreign markets and also experience some kind of glass ceiling they can't get past in the US, as well. But changing that didn't seem to be the goal for either the theater play from the 60's or the 2013 film adaptation of the christmas story Black Nativity. It was specifically designed for a black audience with black actors. The success in cinemas wasn't all too impressive and the date for the first Blu-ray release back in April 2014 didn't really help, either. That's probably why the pre-christmas time was chosen by 20th Century Fox to put out another release containing an Extended Musical Edition that obviously integrates more gospel into the film. The new Blu-ray is scheduled for release on October 7th, 2014. You can order it at Amazon.com.
