Lord of the Rings: Maybe Prolonged Extended Cuts?
While the 2nd Hobbit movie still awaits its Extended Cut premiere and the 3rd film has yet to start in cinemas, director Peter Jackson philosophizes once more about the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. Apparently, there are still some scenes in the studio archives that didn't make it into any of the different cuts or even into the bonus sections of the various editions that are already out there. And Jackson could imagine to cram these scenes into the old films if the demand of the fanbase is huge enough and if he can bring up the courage to enter Warner's huge archive with the original film print. At this year's Comic Con, Jackson had the following to say:
