Captain America: Winter Soldier Uncut with PG-13 This news contains spoilers regarding The Avengers. In no more than 2 weeks, the next Marvel film Captain America - The Winter Soldier starts in the European cinemas and right on time there are some interesting details regarding the US rating that normally affects all the other markets, as well. Kevin Feige could confirm in an interview that Captain America 2 had no problem to get the PG-13 rating. Surprisingly, his "mothership" The Avengers failed at that attempt twice, getting an "R" rating from the MPAA. After censorship, the PG-13 could be reached.
And can you guess what scene caused the issues? Yeah, Coulson's death did:
Looks like it was originally more graphic than in the PG-13 theatrical version which is even more interesting considering that this scene was censored for some other countries even further. Our comparison has more details on that.
