The Boondock Saints 2 - Director's Cut is Coming Oh, we almost tended to forget about director Troy Duffy's announcement in 2011 that he plans to release a director's cut of his sequel The Boondock Saints 2 - All Saints Day. This DC was supposed to enrich the story and give it more depth. While numerous filmmakers utter such statements but don't live up to the expectations they create among fans, Duffy seems to belong to the other half of those who keep their promises. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the US release of a Blu-ray containing both the theatrical version and the Director's Cut of the movie, which will enhance the first cut by an astonishing 27 minutes of additional material, boosting the running time to 144 minutes. Sony's press bulletin has the following information regarding the extensions:
On July 16th, the edition will be exclusively available at Best Buy. However, it's safe to assume that a wide release will follow after that deal between the studio and the retailer has expired.
