Monty Python's The Meaning of Life On Blu-ray Soon First off: yes. The other Pythons, especially Life of Brian and Holy Grail look fantastic on Blu-ray. That will most likely not change for The Meaning of Life. Just as the other releases, the upcoming Blu-ray will be stuffed with bonus material (including a new 60-minute featurette called "The Meaning of Monty Python"). Unfortunately, the film version included on the Blu-ray will only be the theatrical version and not the Director's Cut that has been previously released on DVD. After the HD DVD release some years back, this is again negative news for those who wanted to enjoy the movie in high definition. This Director's Cut puts 3 scenes with a total duration of 9 minutes back into the film. The quality of the new scene material was visibly inferior to the rest of the film and that might have been a reason to scrap them for the HD release. They might have a better place in the bonus section of the disc. The Blu-ray will be released in September 2013 in the UK and in October in the US. You can order it at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
