Borderlands 2: Is the Tiny Tina Character Racist?
You'd think that Borderlands 2 is so "old" by now that there is no more stuff to create controversy and heated discussions about it anymore. Think again.
It all took place on the Twitter account of Borderlands 2 author Anthony Burch where Mike Sacco, a former employee of developer Cryptozoic Entertainment commented:
After a lapidary response by Burch ("Well, it's not going to."), the issue got out of hand since more people joined the discussion and called the character with its latent stereotypical mode of language actively-racist.
Even though other fans and even Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford supported Burch, he crumbled under the public pressure and left open to re-write the character in the future since he doesn't want to appear prejudiced in any way. For technical reasons, this is not so easy to do but it could happen through a future DLC.
