Hellmaster - Blu-ray Premiere With 2 Versions Hellmaster (1992) is a horror film that was made right at the end of the direct-to-video era. It is the first feature film by director Douglas Schulze. On board the horror flick are the genre actors John Saxon known from Cannibal Apocalypse (1980) and David Emge known from Dawn of the Dead (1978). Hellmaster was originally conceived for a theatrical release under the title THEM. However, the horror film was later extended with new material and re-cut. A few years after its completion in the US, the film was released directly on VHS under the title Hellmaster. Now, the US label Vinegar Syndrome presents the film in its original theatrical version as the THEM version for the first time on Blu-ray, together with the Hellmaster reconstruction, which was newly restored in 4K from a 35mm original negative under the supervision by cameraman Michael Goi.
