It - Chapter 2: Director's Cut for Horror Sequel If you like your horror movies short and crisp, this summer you'll be well served with the 90-minute Child's Play and the upcoming Crawl, which only runs for 87 minutes. If, on the other hand, you have enough stamina for it and are the master of your bladder, you can dare to watch two movies in September 2019, which will take another whole hour. Midsommar is such a case of a long movie that will likely get a substantially longer extended cut on home video later on. Now follows the Stephen King movie It - Chapter 2. While the first part with only 135 minutes running time was still quite humane, the sequel clocks in at 165 minutes. But that's not the end of it, as it seems.
At home there is no such problem, which is why a Director's Cut is already being announced. It's still unclear how much longer the cut will last. King's novel spans about more than 1000 pages, so there is enough material for more than 6 hours running time (together with part 1) in any case.
Maybe the Director's Cut that was announced for part 1 awhile back will see the light of day in the course of the release of part 2.
