Maze Runner - The Death Cure Cut in UK Cinemas The Maze Runner franchise has an interesting censorship history in the UK. The first two movies were cut for British cinemas in order to achieve the BBFC 12 rating. Maze Runner was cut by 42 seconds (see comparison) while Maze Runner 2 omitted 41 seconds (see comparison). Those versions also made their way onto the DVD while the uncut versions came out on Blu-ray with a BBFC 15 rating. And as the BBFC's online database informs, the final part Maze Runner - The Death Cure is no exception in terms of censorship:
The cut BBFC 12 version features "moderate violence, threat, language" and has a runtime of 141:35 minutes. We'll see if the same release pattern will apply for the home video releases later on. Maze Runner 3 starts in UK cinemas on January 26th, 2018. ![]()
