Blair Witch Project - Extended Version Ahead? Produced on a tiny budget, the horror film The Blair Witch Project went on to become a massive hit at the box office in 1999 and is often cited to be highly influential for the found footage genre to catch on years later. Since Adam Wingard's Blair Witch is around the corner, the original's co-director and author Eduardo Sanchez announced that he'd like to produce an Extended Cut of his 17-year-old film. According to him, they shot 19 hours of footage out of which the theatrical version was cut together. Sanchez went on to say that he'd be ready with the new cut if Lionsgate hired him to do so. He also called the fans for help to start a petition in order to see whether the interest for another version is high enough. If you want more of the film, here's your chance. ![]()
