Deadpool - No Director's Cut After All

Director is Happy With Theatrical Cut

At first, actor TJ Miller heats up fan expectations with the statement that a harder Director's Cut can be expected later on (see news) and now it's all being taken back. As director Tim Miller states, a harder version of the film itself is not in the works. He does mention, however, that scenes that went beyond what they wanted to show could end up in the bonus section of the DVD/Blu-ray.

Director Tim Miller: “There’s some stuff on the DVD extras, I had a little more workshop fight in there that I liked—that’s the beat that we were talking about, [Simon’s] like, ‘Tim it’s violent enough, please’ and I’m like, ‘Oh no but man when he stomps on his face it’s awesome,’ and Simon’s like, ‘No we’ve got enough.’ (laughs)”

“I don’t wanna be all Joss Whedon on you, but no there’s not [a director’s cut]… There are some deleted scenes that have some extra stuff, but I’m pretty happy with this cut. I like it.”

Deadpool is in theaters since last weekend and continues to shatter records. Maybe Fox still wants to capitalize on the huge euphoria and put out an extended version but we'll see about that later.
