Comparison between the cut “export version” and the uncut extended version, both included on the German Blu-ray from Shamrock Media

- 2 cuts
- Difference: 550.2 sec (= 9:10 min)

After the Girls with Guns blockbuster Iron Angels received its worldwide Blu-ray premiere of Shamrock Media in December 2024, the Americans followed suit in June 2025 and also included parts 2 and 3 in the set. However, in a (German) news we highlighted the uncut material from Iron Angels 3 found in Germany, so waiting for the German counterpart Blu-ray will be worth it. This will still take a little longer, but Iron Angels 2 was released on August 25, 2025 and fully dubbed in German for the first time in its extended version. In principle, this main version of the movie is the same as on the US release.

As already mentioned in our reports on the Hong Kong and the British and Czech versions, this was a rather complicated case in terms of editing. In Germany, the electric shock torture scene was censored somewhat, and there were three other cuts to the plot. The Polish VHS contained the electric torture scene, but was shortened in the same three scenes. One of these three scenes naturally has a certain connotation for German viewers: the Hitler shots shown on TV are missing here. It remains unclear whether this was really censorship or simply an attempt to streamline the film, but in any case, this was missing not only in Germany (unlike the electric torture scene).

Shamrock Media has now re-edited an ‘export version’ from the new HD master as a bonus for the Blu-ray. Basically, this is simply a new, previously unreleased version. Both the electric torture and the Hitler scene have been left in the film, but the other two plot cuts have been made in virtually identical fashion as in the old Polish and German releases. In other words, it is a bonus version that runs as long as possible in both the original German but also the English dub because also on the Vinegar Syndrome release, there is no English dialogue for these scenes. With these cuts, the admittedly rather exhausting Hong Kong humor has been kept to a minimum. In terms of action, the film remains a blast either way, so this is probably the preferred option for many interested parties on the release.

Running times are listed according to the following scheme
Export version on German Blu-ray in 24fps / Extended version on German Blu-ray in 24fps

5:13 p.m. / 5:13-5:41 p.m.

Billy's phone call in the hotel room is followed by a long scene in which our three heroes are invited to dinner at Peter's house. There is a little flirting, and Peter introduces them to typical Malaysian eating habits. During the course of the evening, Billy's second former classmate, Marco, joins the group. The scene then shifts to a restaurant, where there are a few musical interludes - absurdly performed by a group of little people. While the men cheer and a group of trans women look rather grim, the singer gradually begins to undress. The export version also begins during the final part of the song (when the legs are exposed).

Some more dialogue in medium long shot, followed by further shots of the theater performance. Our two couples comment enthusiastically on this in between. Finally, we see the man with the phone arriving a little earlier.
