Spring Breakers May Have A Director's Cut Later
Spring Breakers started in US cinemas last Friday and because it doesn't hold back on frisky content, it received the "R" rating by the MPAA (for strong sexual content, language, nudity, drug use and violence throughout).
During the obligatory interview marathon prior to the theatrical release, director Harmony Korine talked to Collider about the following DVD/BD release.
His response to the question, whether there are many deleted scenes that didn't make it into the finished film:
Whether he is a fan of unrated versions for the home video releases and if Spring Breakers was getting one:
It remains to be seen if there will indeed be a longer version later. Directors and other officials announced possible extended cuts of movies and just a couple of those promises turned out to be true. Either way, it's good to know that Korine is interested to release an unrated version. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
