Les Misérables - No Extended Cut for Now Les Misérables started in the US on Christmas and now, the announcement for the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray releases has been published. However, they won't contain the extended version that was teased by Tom Hooper indirectly. Whether there might be an Extended Cut later on was depending on the film's success at the box office (symbolizing the public's interest) and a little on his motivation, according to Hooper. With 350 million at the BO, the success is clearly there but Hooper's passion seems to be lacking at the moment. But as promised, Hooper did not put deleted scenes into the bonus section of the Blu-ray because of the possibility of a later Extended Cut. We'll just have to wait but this might be an indication that a later release could contain the longer version. The Blu-ray is richly equipped otherwise and will be released in the US on March 22nd, 2013.
