Evil Dead  - First Cut Receives NC-17 Rating
It's common knowledge for some weeks now that the remake of Evil Dead will be rated R in American cinemas. In order to reach that goal, different cuts were produced that vary in the level of violence.
In the meantime, a first cut was submitted to the MPAA. However, it didn't get the desired "R" rating but received the commercially unfavorable NC-17 classification, as director Fede Alvarez stated on Twitter. On the basis of this version, they will apply cuts in order to get the "R".
It is expected that the uncensored version of the horror film will later be included on DVD and Blu-ray.
Evil Dead starts in US cinemas on April 12th, 2013 and in UK cinemas on April 19th, 2013.
