Total Recall - In Search of Breast Censorship
Almost all relevant info on Len Wiseman's reboot of Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall has been reported so far. But since the insertion of new scenes via seamless branching could lead up to minor differences, we pro forma checked the German theatrical version and the Extended Director's Cut with their North-American counterparts where we did not uncover any differences.
We focused our attention especially on the ominous alternate scene of the "three-breasted woman" in which she wears the fitting bra and which was for a fact shown in cinemas somewhere around the globe. The sometimes surfacing hint that there were reshoots to secure the PG-13 rating were obviously referring to the alterations also shown in our comparison.
The question remains where the version with the covered breasts was shown. If you have any info on this, please feel free to contact us.
