Someone's Watching Me! First HD Release Worldwide

Carpenter's Early Work on Blu-ray in the US

In 1978, shortly before John Carpenter's Halloween, Carpenter directed the US TV movie Someone's Watching Me! and he wrote the screenplay for the suspense thriller as well. The movie did not air until after the theatrical release of Halloween. However, Someone's Watching Me! is an hommage to Alfred Hitchcock in general and to Hitckcock's Rear Window in particular. The main characters are being played by Lauren Hutton, David Birney, Charles Cyphers and Carpenter's future wife Adrienne Barbeau. Even though Carpenter had to accept the restrictions that come along with an US TV movie and even though he did not get to compose the score, the movie is stil worth watching.

In the US, Scream Factory will release Someone's Watching Me! on Blu-ray for the very first time. Release is on 08/07/2018, the extras are as follows:

  • NEW 2K scan from the original film elements – in both 1.85:1 and 1.33:1 aspect ratios
  • NEW audio commentary with author Amanda Reyes (Are You in the House Alone?: A TV Movie Compendium 1964-1999)
  • NEW Adrienne Barbeau: Looking Back at Someone’s Watching Me
