Compared are the censored TV Version (UK Blu-ray, identical to the US premier on NBC at 06/11/2015) and the uncensored Producer's Cut (US Blu-ray by Lionsgate)
- 1 alteration
- no length difference
Just like the 2 previous season of the cancelled show Hannibal, there are several episodes that required some alterations for US TV (which are also the versions sold to other countries). While there was a bare-bones UK release containing the TV Version several months ago, the US Blu-ray contains 7 episodes marked as "Producer's Cut". And contrary to the UK release, the US Blu-ray contains a lot of bonus features.
Episode 2 ("Primavera") is similar to the season premier: again, ruining a 500 years old piece of art was considered necessary. Sandro Boticelli's eponymous painting shows several half-naked people and for the TV Version, the genitals were covered. Annoyingly, the censoring hasn't been undone consequently - similar to previous episodes. As a result, there is still a censored image of the painting in the Producer's Cut. Not to mention that it hasn't been blurred for TV in later episodes.
During the close-up of the eponymous painting "Primavera" (and also in the subsequent sht from Will's perpesctive), several genitals and the woman's breasts have been blurred for TV.
Please note: exactly 1 minute earlier, when Pazzi points it out to Graham, one gets to see the painting for the first time - unfortunately, this scene is also blurred on the US Blu-ray!
