Meanwhile, in the Korean version, the following happens instead: While Julie is bathing Kenny, he observes a mother breastfeeding her baby. Kenny and Julie talk to each other (it's probably about whether Julie will continue to take care of Kenny), in the end they hug.

Chin and Chau Sang return from their short excursion while Chan watches the French woman being handed a bowl of water by a villager. Chan, believing it to be poison, takes the bowl and throws it away. Meanwhile, Chau Sang accepts a bottle from another villager. The villager flees, which the mercenaries find very amusing at first. Suddenly Chan recognizes the seriousness of the situation: He tries to warn Chau Sang - too late: Opening the bottle sets off a booby trap, Chau Sang explodes in a fireball. (As he unscrews the bottle, another John Woo trademark that is completely absent in the HK version can be seen: the image is briefly frozen to heighten a dramatic moment or to indicate the impending fate of a doomed character) The remaining mercenaries go berserk and and start shooting up the place.
