The newly purchased satellite dish of the Putterman family one day receives an extraterrestrial transmission frequency from a distant planet. It is exactly this frequency that the inhabitants of the alien planet use for energetic waste disposal. As a result, an extraterrestrial garbage monster is teleported through the television set directly into the Puttermans' living room. The alien creature becomes settled in the family and turns out to be anything but peaceful.

TerrorVision, created in 1986, is an extremely wacky and weird horror comedy in the low budget sector and offers pure trash in every respect. The whole thing was produced by Charles Band, and those who have already had experience with films in which he was involved know in advance what to expect: undemanding and dull B-movie entertainment. Charles Band, however, has proven to be very hardworking and productive in his career of over 40 years. In addition to a number of films in which he sat in the director's chair, he was mainly responsible for more than 300 productions, including the film series for Trancers, Subspecies and Puppet Master.

As far as the worldwide versions are concerned, there is not much to say about TerrorVision, because it didn't have any problems with censorship. However, the Blu-ray by Shout! Factory in the United States offers a small mystery. There, TerrorVision is also "uncut" so to speak, but for inexplicable reasons a short take is missing. This is no question of arbitrary censorship, rather, it can be assumed that there has been some sloppiness during production. Apart from TerrorVision, there is also another B-cracker on the Blu-ray with the title The Video Dead.

The US Blu-ray by Shout Factory / Scream Factory (R-Rated) was compared to the uncut German DVD (rated FSK 16) by Wicked Vision.

While the camera moves onto the bed, what's missing right at the beginning is a tentacle looking out from under the bed and snaking back and forth.
