Early work of German director Uwe Boll starring B actors such as Casper van Dien, Eric Roberts and Michael Paré that doesn't really know what it wants to be. Not straight enough for a serial killer film, the movie's plot has some detours that don't really fit into the big picture. Boll, as much as he continues to stay in the spotlight of critics, occasionally delivers way better films by now. But Sanctimony has a little aspect that distinguishes it from other works of the director since it had to be cut before the BBFC gave it a rating. The board members demanded that a scene of sexual violence had to be removed before they could allow it to be released in the UK. 0:28:09: Tom isn't very nice to Eve who sleeps on the bed and doesn't expect to be treated like this, obviously. Tom grabs her her aggressively and rips her thong off, strangling her with it before he slaps her in the face. She yells in pain and tells him that he is hurting her but that just seems to motivate him more. He then proceeds to violently penetrate her. All in all, that's pretty close to what the BBFC would consider sexual violence.
