The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet - Cut in UK A few weeks ago, there was another film that had a French touch and got into a little ratings trouble with the BBFC due to a single use of the word "motherfucker". The Love Punch with Pierce Brosnan would have been rated "15" if that term stayed in but the distributor chose to remove it and now it's rated "12". The notable difference between The Love Punch and the Canadian/French production The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet is that the latter is a film intended for children. But it still contains this strong word, which seems rather strange. The distributor sought advice from the BBFC before the official rating process and when they hinted at a probable "15", the decision was made to remove the bad word. The film subsequently got the "12" rating by the BBFC. It will start in UK cinemas on June 13th, 2014. ![]()
