The Hungover Games with Unrated Version in the US Scary Movie re-introduced the idea that it can be a lucrative business model to spoof successful theatrical films of recent years and produce own movies on that premise. However, the makers behind that met their creative boundaries pretty fast which is why the output mostly earns shaking head-shaking instead of applause. Therefore, the chances that The Hunger Games can turn things around appear to be quite low. In the US, the MPAA rated a version "R" (for crude and sexual content, nudity, language throughout, comic violence and drug use) but that one doesn't seem to get that much distribution except for the usual US video store chains that only carry MPAA-approved films. The mainstream mass will have the opportunity to pick up an Unrated Edition of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray. Its US release date is February 4th, 2014 and it can be ordered at Amazon.com.
