Release: Oct 06, 2011 - Author: FreshDudel - Translator: Mr Miau
Due to unknown reasons, the worldwide console versions of the FPS F.E.A.R. were published worldwide with some alterations. The game contains a lot less blood on both the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3, no blood is splatering against walls and gory textures on enemies are missing as well. However, if the player kills an enemy by severing a limb or making him burst, blood can be seen on both the environment and the enemies. Corpses that are part of the level as decoration also still lie in their own blood.
In the XBOX 360 version, this has already been fixed by a patch which was released on XBOX Live. It is therefore probable that this censoring was/is a bug and not planned by the developers. Comparison between the censored console version (taken from the English XBOX 360 game) and the uncensored (English) PC Version. 1. Removed blood textures on characters
No blood textures can be seen on killed enemies in the console version. (Exception: Splatter effects of gory kills)
2. Removed blood textures in the environment Only the uncensored version shows the blood splattering on the environment. (Exception: Splatter effects of gory kills)
