Alex and Gene are leaving the station. In the International Version, Alex immediately sees the dog.
In the UK Version however, they have an encounter with Superintendent Mackintosh who stops his car right in front of them.
Superintendent Mackintosh: "All sorted Gene?"
Gene: "Almost there, sir. Just tying up a few loose ends."
Superintendent Mackintosh: "Good stuff. Short and sharp, so it doesn't affect morale. (Then he looks at Alex) Alex."
Alex nods and Superintendent Mackintosh keeps driving. Alex and Gene look at each other, Gene explains himself: "It's called respect. You should look it up."
They keep going and now, Alex sees the dog in the UK Version as well.

After Sally died in Gene's arms, the International Version continues with Gene and Alex in the Quattro the next day. They are on their way to Ruth Irvine.
In the UK Version, we see Alex and Gene at the station, directly after Sally died. Gene puts a drink in front of Alex on the desk and takes a sear as well..
Gene: "They should put a sign up at every train station in the north saying 'The streets of London are paved with shit'."
Gene: "Why kill a kid like that? What could she possibly have known that would be worth her death?"
Gene takes a sip, then Alex goes on: "I don't know what I'm in this miserable place for. I have no idea."
Gene: "I know why you're here, Bols. You only had to ask."
Alex: "Why? Why am I here?"
Gene: "Same reason as me. To keep the streets clean. And to find this girl's killer."
Alex laughs, Gene empties his glass, Alex takes a sip as well. With the following scene in the Quattro, the versions are back in sync.

The end of the scene at Irvines' is longer in the UK Version. After Gene's "Get your knickers on, you're nicked.", the International Version continues with Ruth Irvine's interrogation at the station.
In the UK Version, the scene is not over yet. Alex grabs the kids and she makes sure they do not leave the kitchen: "Come on, kids, you don't need to hear this. In you go, in you go. Wait in there."
Ruth Irvine: "They're burying their father this week!"
Gene: "Well, I hope you booked the space next to him 'cause I'm gonna bury you."
Then the scene at the police station.

Gene's conversation with Superintendent Mackintosh about his affair with the wife of the deceased constable is longer in the UK Version.
Superintendent Mackintosh: "You can't help who you fall in love with Gene."
Gene: "Is that right, sir?"
Superintendent Mackintosh: "None of this changes the bigger picture. I want Soho cleaned up, I want the man who murdered my officer. Now, if you'll excuse me."

Superintendent Mackintosh then turns around and leaves.

The bold-marked dialogs are missing in the International Version.

The end of the scene with Alex is longer in the UK Version. After Alex's "It does ring a bell though", the International Version continues with the interrogation.
In the UK Version, we see Alex putting the pictures on the table. Furthermore, the interrogation of Kevin Hales starts earlier.
Gene: "The death of your friend has been a bit traumatic for you."
Hales: "Yes, sir."
Gene: "Even though you told us he was a bit pervy."
Hales: "No, not pervy. Whatever he got up to in private, I guess it didn't hurt anyone. We're talking Soho, nothing's black and white there."
Alex: "Well, apart from your friend Sean."
Hales: "Ma'am?"
Alex: "Well, he was white, wasn't he? I mean he was honest."
Hales: "Yeah, I didn't say he wasn't honest."
Gene: "The question is does that make you black?"
Hales: "I don't know what you mean."
With Gene's "Well you said your mate, your best mate used to tax the girls when we know he didn't.", the versions are back in sync.

The end of the interrogation is longer as well.
Hales says "But I didn't kill my mate and I didn't kill that girl.". Then a shot of Alex, followed by a shot of Gene and Alex in front of the station.
In the UK Version, the shot of Alex follows a shot of Gene.
Gene: "Get out of my sight."
Hales get up and leaves silently. Alex watches him leave, then Gene again.
With the following shot of Gene and Alex in front of the station, the versions are back in sync.
