In the International Version, Gene's conversation with Superintendent Mackintosh ends after Gene's "Yeah, I'll get the boys onto it.". In the UK Version, the conversation is not over yet. The cut has been made for continuity reasons, because the now following dialog refers to the cut at 05:59 (the Gene Margaret "incident").
Superintendent Mackintosh: "Oh, and the Commissioner had a call from the the Palace today."
Gene: "Buck House?"
Superintendent Mackintosh: "It seems Princess Margaret was visiting her favourite dressmaker when a man holding a giant plastic penis walked in front of her car."
Gene: "Too much Scotch?"
Superintendent Mackintosh: "And then some foul-mouthed police officer refused to let her pass."
Gene: "No respect for our elders anymore. Some people, eh?"
Gene leaves but Superintendent Mackintosh keeps talking: "Irvine was supposed to clean up Soho."
While Gene slowly returns, Superintendent Mackintosh goes on: "Instead he got corrupted by it."
Alex: "We'll sort this, sir."
Superintendent Mackintosh nods, turns around and leaves. Alex leaves as well. With the exterior shot of the Quattro, the versions are back in sync.

After Gene stopped the car, the International Version goes on with Ruth Irvine, the wife of the deceased PC.
In the UK Version, Alex and Gene get out of the Quattro first. Then they approach the house.
Gene: "Hold up, Bolly. Personally, I'm never in that much of a hurry to tell a wife her husband's dead."
Alex: "Things are moving."
Gene: "They certainly are. Something to do with last night's vindaloo."
Alex: "You heard him. We've got a job to do."
Alex rings the bell, turns around to Gene and with the following scene, the versions are back in sync.

The end of the scene with Ruth Irvine is longer in the UK Version.
In the International Version, she gets up and rushes to her kids while crying (off-screen). Then a shot of Alex, followed by the strip club scene.
In the UK Version, Ruth hugs her daughter. The daughter looks at Alex, Alex looks at her pitiful. Then Gene and Alex leaving the house. They are on their way to the Quattro.
Alex: "I know wives are the last to know their husbands use prostitutes, but she did seem really sure he wasn't into that sort of thing."
Gene: "As the great Charlie Rich once said, "Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors". Look, a copper gets his rocks off dressed up as Widow Twankie in front of hookers. It embarrasses me, it embarresses the force, so we move on."
They get in the Quattro.
Gene: "Nobody knows anyone, Bolly. The great lie of this life is we pretend we do."
Alex: "You never talk about Mrs. Hunt, do you? Ex Mrs. Hunt."
Gene: "That's right. I don't."
Gene starts the Quattro and they drive off. With the now following scene at the strip club, the versions are back in sync.

The conversation with Sally, the stripper, is longer in the UK Version.
Gene and Alex take Sally outside.
Gene: "So, you're a one-eyed stripper who likes to take a photograph?"
Sally: "I've got both me eyes, thanks. It's my stage persona."
Alex: "So you don't deny then that that's you in the photograph?"
Sally. "Yeah, that's me."
Alex: "How well did you know the man?"
Sally: "I didn't. Apparently he came into the club and watched me strip. Then the boss said he wanted to do something in private."
Alex: "What did you say about that?"
Sally: "I said no. They said he was a police officer and they wanted to keep him happy. So I said I'd do it, bit I'd only watch, nothing else."
Alex: "Watch what exactly?"
Sally: "Just him. And take photos."
Gene: "What, one for the album?"
Sally: "Look, can I go in please? I don't know anything."
But Gene does not let her get back inside.
Alex: "We're talking about the death of a police officer here."
Sally: "Oh, God."
Gene: "Where’s that accent from?"
Sally: "Hyde."
Gene: "Hyde? Manchester girl. You should've said so."
Gene (screams): "Chris! Chris!"
Alex: "Can we get on?"

Sally: "Look, I promise you he wasn't dead when I left him."
Then Chris comes out of the building.
Gene (to Chris): "This young lady's from Manchester."
Chris: "Guv?"
Gene: "Go and get her a decent cup of tea and a biscuit. What sort of biscuits do you like, love?"
Sally: "Garibaldis."
Gene laughs, then he gives Chris a few bucks and sends him off: "Whoosh."

Dann geht es (in beiden Fassungen) mit Kevin Hales auf dem Revier weiter.
