Comparison between the TV version and the Extended Version Alternative
02:40-02:42 After the opening credits, the extended version shows an additional exterior shot and then you can see inside, how Ross tries to achieve something by phone. Ross: "Oh hi, is this Nanny Hopkins? I'm-I'm looking for Emily. Waltham. Oh, I-I'm sorry. Is this 0-1-1-4-4-7-4-2-9-3-4-7-4-2-6-7? Oh it's “4-3”, not 4-2. Oh, we-well, which 4-2?"
The TV version, on the other hand, starts with a different shot of Chandler before Joey comes through the door in both versions.
Extended 24.9 sec longer 06:58 When Rachel plays ‘What are you gonna do?’, Ross first says, "I don't know. I mean, I can't leave Ben." Chandler: “Well, you can just video-conference with him." Ross gives him a dirty look and Chandler says, ”I'm not ready to have children." 9.7 sec
07:17 An entire additional scene in which Ross tries to convince Carol of London. Susan and son Ben also join in, which of course doesn't make it any easier for him. Carol: "Ross, we are not moving to London. We already have lives here." Ross: “Yeah, but-but it'd be great. They-they have great theatre, great accents. Uhh, umm... Tea. They have a queen." Carol: ”So?" Ross: “She's-she's a woman." Susan knocks and enters; ”Hey!" Ben: "Daddy!" Ross: "Hey! Guess what?! We're moving to London! Yay!" Susan: “Who's going to London?" Carol: ”Nobody's going to London." Ross tries a British accent; "Oh, umm, welcome to London, governor. Right, right. It'll be great because we'll have Big Ben and little Ben in the same city. Ooo-ooh!" To Ben: "Hey, go pack!" The little one leaves the room and Ross looks at the girls; “See? See, he wants to go." Susan: ”Yeah, we leave all our big decisions to the 3-year-old." Ross: "Come on, come on. It'll be just like Three's Company only-only there's a kid and my wife and-and you're the gay ones." 92.8 sec (= 1:33 min)
10:58-11:00 Commercial black screen break: In the TV version, Ross can be seen for a moment longer and then it fades to black. The Extended Version, on the other hand, has an additional exterior shot for the transition. Extended 0.7 sec longer
13:27-13:28 While the TV version already fades to Joey, Monica says in the Extended version: "With all the stupid gloating, would you want to sleep with you?" Chandler: "Well, I think I'd be a little out of my league, but I'd give it a shot." The fade is also soft here. Extended 8 sec longer
14:46 A first dialogue in the apartment before Ross comes in. Chandler: "Uhh, quick broiling pan question--" Monica: "Yes, it really does cost that much. Maybe next time your duck can puke in something from Pottery Barn." 8,9 sec
16:20 More fun at the end of the scene with the magic 8 ball. Ross: "Okay, one more time. Should I never see Rachel again?" Rachel comes in: “Hey. Ooh, Magic 8 Ball! What did you ask?" Ross: ”Uhh, does...Rachel get to pick the movie that we're all going to see tonight?" Rachel: "Excellent. What's the answer? Woo-hoo! Looks like Stella's gonna get her groove back tonight. Wh-what? I heard it was good." 34.1 sec
When Ross is tinkering with the ball in the 19th minute, the HD version shows a significantly larger framing. This is the case a few more times during the scene.
22:02-22:03 The very last scene of the episode is a little longer. Chandler and Monica look at each other again - and then immediately run back into the closet from which they just emerged, their hair tousled. Extended 8.5 sec longer
