Sparta, sometime A.D., the great penguin conqueror and leader of Sparta Leonidas has to go to war against the superior army of Persian’s king Xerxes. Not all of the 300 brave warriors of Sparta have time for this dangerous mission but 13 muscle-bound sandal heroes follow Leonidas. The opponent waiting for them is no piece of cake because in the Persian’s army we spot some super heroes of modern times: form Ghost Rider to Rocky to the Transformers. And while the men risk their hot loins Queen Margo messes with the Spartan men’s plenum.
Yet again a new Scary Movie meets Fantastic Movie-clone. Meet The Spartans mainly spoofs the story of 300. Garnished with some more movie parodies and spoofs of some C-celebrities of film and television and voila: here’s a more or less funny comedy. If one needs the unrated version is something everyone needs to decide for themselves. Anyone who did think the movie’s hilarious in its theatrical released cut will have a lot of fun with the unrated version and anyone who didn’t like the film before won’t really need to watch the new cut.
