After the shooting, parts of the original negatives of A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe were stolen, which is one of the reasons why there are practically no identical or even complete versions of the movie available worldwide.

In spring 2013, the first Blu-ray of the movie was released in Germany, and even though it is not perfect, it can still be seen as the best release so far – the DVD releases are just too bad. However, it is still not uncut. Just like every other release we checked (for example from Italy, France and the US).

The Italian version is cut the least, especially because it contains a two-minute scene all the other versions are lacking. The shortest version is the old German version lacking about nine minutes.

This comparison covers the US DVD by Wham! USA, which is cut by 3:38 minutes in five scenes. The pictures of the cuts are taken from various other shots.
