The UK DVD by Shameless has been compared to the Australian DVD by Siren Visual. This report is referring to the original cut of the film and not the later one, edited by Deodato.
Cannibal Holocaust has a hard time with the BBFC. The old version released by VIPCO had to be cut by 6 minutes. The new release by Shameless shows that there has been some evolution during all the years. Only the scene in which Miguel kills a muskrat was replaced by alternate footage. These scenes are not new, tough, but recycled from the previous one. All the other scenes with animal-killings or -violence are contained completely, which is certainly striking, as the BBFC used to be very focused on any scenes showing violence against animals. (E.g. in Once Upon a Time in China 3)
The Australian DVD is equal to the USA's Grindhouse release.
Also interesting is the fact that the Shameless DVD contains the missing scenes from the "The Last Road to Hell"-sequence, which the Australian DVD and many other releases are missing.
The Australian DVD starts off with a text overlay stating that the uncensored version is going to be shown.
The UK version starts with the "United Artists"-logo.
Miguel kills the muskrat with a knife.
The UK-version isntead shows scenes of a monkey on the trees and a short cut to Monroe and Chaco.
