The UK-DVD, released by Pathé (BBFC 15), has been compared to the German DVD by Constantin Film.

Length of cuts = 17,56 sec

Zhang Yimou's sequel to Hero needed to have three parts cut for the release in Great Britain because those scenes depict horses falling, and you can safely assume that the animals were badly injured because of this.

The two location-overlays were extended with additional (translated) overlays in Germany, apart from that, the DVD does not contain any subtitles.

All the three cuts were made at the beginning of Mei's (Ziyi Zhang) and Jin's (Takeshi Kaneshiro) escape. Jin found the lost daggers and rushes back to Mei, who is being discovered and attacked by the soldiers.

Mei hits one of the horses with the shaft and steed and rider fall.
