Comparison between the TV Version and the Extended Version.

8 differences, among of them 3 with alternate footage
Length difference: 102.6 (= 1:43 min)

All Blu-ray releases of this cult series unfortunately only contain the TV-Version of all of the episodes. Viewers who already know the Extended Versions from the DVD boxes will miss the additional footage.

Episode 3x05 (The One with Frank Jr.) contains approx. 1.5 minutes of additional footage. Most of the time, there are more nice moments with Chandler.

Black screen after the opening.

When Chandler has mentioned the freebie list, an alternate shot of Joey, who wants to know more about it, follows. In the TV Version, he is just arriving on the scene.

Joey's comment is longer in the Extended Version plus there is alternate footage when Joey asks the in both versions identical question.

Joey: "Man this is such a great thing. Y'know, Annie Esposito would never have dumped me had we had a list like this, you know? And also of course if her sister was famous. (Hey, Monica, who would yours be?)"

Monica complains and her discussion with Joey is longer.

Joey: "I can't, Monica. Chandler would kill me if I don't finish the unit."
Monica: "I'll pay you double what he is paying you."
Joey: "He's not paying me anything."
Monica: "Triple."
Joey turns around resp. he needs to think.

When Frank has asked for Phoebes phone resp. he intends to melt that as well, he makes an additional comment in the Extended Version: "Oh, just the numbers. It'll still work."

Black screen due to a commercial break in the TV Version. As compensation, the Extended Version contains an additional exterior shot as transition.

Extended Version 0.9 sec longer

Chandler and Monica are fighting longer in the Extended Version. They take their anger out on Joey.

At first, they look at Phoebe, who she just made fun of, speechless.
Chandler: "He was helping me first!"
Monica: "But I need a bathroom first!"
Joey: "Woah, woah, woah woah. You guys figure it out. I'm going to go take a little break."
Chandler: "Oh, that's good!"
Monica: "Take a break?!"
Joey: "Yeah, I think even God rested on the seventh day."
Monica reacts with anger: "Joey if this takes seven days you'll be able to meet God and ask him about it yourself!"

The TV Version only contains a little distance shot before the transition to the next scene.

Extended Version 23.2 sec longer

Following this, the Blu-ray Version contains a different shot of the octopus on TV.

The scene at Monica's apartment starts much earlier. First, Phoebe is screwing around, then Chandler announces renovations.

Monica: "Hey Phoebe, what's that?"
Phoebe: "Oh! Frank Jr. gave me this before he left. It's a present. It used to belong to our dad. It's his garage door opener until Frank melted it."
Phoebe pushes the button on the remote and all of a sudden, another channel is on: "Cool!"
Chandler comes in: "Sound the bell, gather up all the men you can find. We got ourselves an entertainment unit raising."
The girls do not give the back of a rat and stay behind, so Chandler returns: "No seriously, can you help us?"

37.5 sec

After Joey pointed out to Chandler that one side of the dresser is still wet, he fidgets a little and says: "Arm hair stuck, arm hair stuck!"
