In Germany, the movie release of the VHS version was based on the US R-Rated version. However, when Paramount later on decided to release the movie on DVD, they decided to base it on the uncut Unrated version. In the United States you're only able to buy the R-Rated version (no matter if you pick the VHS or the DVD).

The love play as well as the following sex scene between Jay and Donna are way longer in the Unrated version. In the R-Rated version, most of this sexual content was cut out; however, there are a few alternative takes from both sequences.
