Comparison between the shortened UK VHS released by Vipco (BBFC 18) and the uncut Austrian DVD released by XT-Video.

There are 17 scenes missing with an overall runtime of 6 minutes and 6 seconds.

The controversial cannibal-classic by Rugero Deodato has not yet been released in an uncensored version in the UK. Both the VHS and the DVD versions are missing out on scenes of the rape as well as the killing of the animals (even though I'm not sure if you would really miss the latter...) - overall, the UK versions miss out on more than 6 minutes. Allegedly, the VHS version released by Shameless only misses out on 15 seconds (the killing of the anteater). In 1982, the movie was included in the "Video Nastys" list.
