Alternate Footage
04:49

Only the German DVD contains the additional titel "Zurück in die 80er" ("Back to the 80s). For obvious reasons, the UK DVD only contains the original show title. Furthermore, the German title of the episode follows after the opening. In the UK Version, the title does not appear.

Please note: I am well aware that this is irrelevant for international audiences, but I would not be surprised if this alteration had been made in other (non-English speaking) countries as well.

The end of Mickey's "interrogation" is longer in the UK Version. After Gene's "He'd have coughed by now.", the International Version continues with Gene and Alex at the station.
In the UK Version, we see Alex looking at Mickey and Gene.
Gene: "Well, this has been about as useful as a pair of new slippers for Douglas Bader. Let's get to some work real work, shall we?"
With the last comment, Gene leaves the room and so does Alex. Then Ray kicks Mickey while he is still lying on the ground.
Ray: "I've had it with this shit."
With the following scene at the station, the versions are back in sync.

After Gene got in the Quattro, the International Version shows Gene, Alex and Viv at the station.
In the UK Version, we see Ray's interview regarding George Staines.
Ray: "George Staines. Who's seen him? Come on, someone's seen him. Someone's hiding him. You've all worked for him."
One of the guys says: "He's snuffed it."
Ray: "Ah. But has he? Come on. Someone speek up. It's worth a few quid."
Then the guy again: "Last bloke what said anything about George Staines was him."
At the same time, he points at the guy with crutches to his right.
Then the guy goes on: "He could've played for Millwall and all, couldn't you, Charlie?"
Chris looks at his left leg. Obviously, the guy has lost his left leg hence the crutches.
Then Chris: "He still could."
Ray laughs but the guy Way was talking to does not think it is funny, He gives Chris the evil eye.
Chris explains: "Joke. It was a joke."
Then Gene, Alex and Viv in the UK Version as well.

When Mickey explains George was not dead, he elaborates in the UK Version.
Mickey: "He paid me to identify his body, except it was some old tramp that'd been burnt in a fire. George made sure his sovereign ring was found on the body. Told me he wanted to disappear to Spain. It's the last I saw of him."
With Alex telling Gene the man who had gotten buried was just a drifter, the versions are back in sync.

The beginning of the Gaynor Mason interrogation is longer in the UK Version.
Gene: "Pally with the Drake family, aren't you, Gaynor?"
Gaynor: "I've got to know them over the months, yeah."
Alex: "Got to know their comings and goings, where they kept things in the house, like Bryan Drake's wages."
The versions are back in sync with Gaynor's "You're accusing me of stealing from Bryan".
