Cutscenes, Script Sequences, Boss Fights

Prolog

Cutscene

Juliet is driving through the zombie crowd onn her bike. While the zombies lose a lot of red blood during, there are only zombie sparks and slightly pink blood spatter.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

In the Uncensored Version, Juliet kills the zombies quite violently. In the Censored Version, the blood amount has been reduced and colored pink plus the red cut surfaces* are black. One zombie at the beginning has still red blood which is probably a mistake.

*(Since is the case with every zombie whose body is split in the middle, it is not going to be mentioned every time in the remaing parts of the comparison.)

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

There are body parts flying around in the Japanese Version as well but some details are missing: two loose arms and a head have been removed. The "zombie head ball" at the end of the sequence has become a football - at least with a "zombie head picture" on it.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Sequence
Zombies are getting their teeth into a victim (pun intended) which is quite bloody in the Uncensored Version.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Sequence
Two cops are firing at three zombies. Even though the blood is hard to spot in the Uncensored Version, it still has been removed.

Cutscene

Nick gets shot in the arm. Bloody in the Uncensored Version, no blood in the Japanese Version.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Juliet bloodily splits a zombie in half. Not only does the Japanese Version contains pink sparks and (less) pink blood but the zombie is also glowing.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Since a severed body does not look nice, it has been put in a box in the Japanese Version. But since there can be a lot of stuff in boxes, the box has been labelled with its content.

Level 1 - High School

Sequence

A zombie throws a student on the ground. The blood is missing in the Japanese Version.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Sequence

Headshot for a teacher - Red blood in the Uncensored Version, pink blood and sparks in the Japanese Version.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

Cutscene

The zombie's body being severed by sushi master Morikawa is not bloodier in the Uncensored Version but a few body parts are missing in the Japanese Version.

Boss Fight 1 - Punk Rock Zombie - Zed

Juliet positions her chainsaw sword and tries to sever Zed's body. Her first attempt fails though and Zed puts his body pieces bak together.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

This time, Juliet tries it sideways but she remains unsuccessful - the fight goes to round 3.
In the Uncensored Version, Zed is spitting blood at the end. But in the Japanese Version, it is just saliva.

Japanese VersionUncensored Version

After the last round, Juliet closes in for the kill and cuts Zed in half. Because the flying hand has been colored purple in the Japanese Version, it is barely recognizable. When the hand lands on the ground and shows a clear message, it is glowing purple in the Japanese Version. Later on, this is also the case in the Uncensored Version but the hand has been removed from the Japanese Version here. As before, all the cut surfaces are black.
