Rise of the Dragon

Comparison:

Censored Sega CD Version
Region: Worldwide

Uncensored Amiga/PC Version
Region: Worldwide

Release: Feb 20, 2012 - Author: gecko666 - Translator: Matar
Game:
Rise of the Dragon is an adventure game, developed by Dynamix and has been released in 1990 for DOS and Macintosh. Later it was ported for the Amiga and Sega CD console. The gameplay is pretty decent: via mouse cursor the action is made and orders are made, objects are examined and various strange persons are talked to. The cursor reacts if you point something interesting. The control is easy and the riddles are not that hard and logic.

Story:
Year 2053: Los Angeles is led by a crime organisation and the narcotraffic expands. The main actor is William “Blade” Hunter who seems to be similar to Rick Deckard from Blade Runner. When the governor’s daughter is killed he has to uncover the case.

Versions:
Except for changes because of censorship there are some small differences between the versions which are not considered in this report.

A few of those differences:
- in contrast to the Amiga version the Sega CD version offeres synchronised speakers. Blade Hunter is synchronised by Cam Clarke
- The Sega version has a green cast.
- the stripper is more vivid in the Amiga version:
