Compared are the Series Version (German DVD Box of Season 1 by Warner and the Movie Version on iTunes
- 3 censored scenes - Length difference: 5 sec In 1972, David Carradine shot Kung Fu. Approx. 20 years later, the character returned in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. The show consists of 4 seasons but the fact that there are two versions of the pilot episode appears a little weird at first glance. Except for the night club scene being censored - the dancers are wearing bras in the Series Version - there are no differences whatsoever. Odds are this scene was censored for US TV. Interestingly enough, there is alternate footage plus two tracking shots of the night club were simply shot twice. The result: The woman are either topless or not - depending on the version. Time index refers to Series Version / Movie Version The title credits are different and so are some of the last credits.
From minutes 11-18, the DVD with the Series runs with less frames per second for some reason. Alternate 38:37-39:16 / 38:18-38:57 Alternate take of the final tracking shot across the night club: In the Series Version, the dancers are wearig bras. Movie Version 1.9 sec longer
39:38 / 39:17-39:20 The Movie Version contains a close-up of one of the topless dancers. No alternate footage this time, just a plain and simple cut. 2.7 sec
Alternate 62:29-63:16 / 62:11-62:58 The subsequent shot of the club is alternate once again. Movie Version 0.4 sec longer
