Compared are the cut episodes on the US DVD by Lions Gate / FOX and the uncut episodes on the German DVD by Warner Home Video.

The differences:

1 cut = 2 minutes and 6 seconds.

One certainly needs to make no words about the hilarious TV show "ALF". Even those who have not seen it have at least heard of it even though it has been quite some time since something new from the ALF universe was released. Anyway, the show consists of 4 seasons and was aired in the late 80s and early 90s. Furthermore, there are two animated series ("ALF: The Animated Series" & ALF Tales) and a motion picture from the mid 90s.


As for the US Versions, a few minutes of each episode were cut for syndication in order to show more commercials. Unfortunately, these syndication versions were also released on DVD. Understandably, the fans were disappointed that the DVDs do not contain the uncut episodes. Whether or not the uncut episodes will be released one day (perhaps on Blu-ray?) is the million dollar question.

Maxine: There I was, on a lonely deserted mountain road in the middle of the night, when suddenly, my breaks failed on the downgrade!
Katherine: Oh, Maxine, you must have been scared out of you wits!
Maxine: Let's just say I was screaming my mantra at the top of my lungs!
Willie: I'll bet!
Maxine: I kept going faster and faster when, suddenly, another power took control and pushed me into the passenger seat! Usually, I don't let other people drive my car!
Katherine: And that was the first time you met, uh...? What did you say your friend's name was?
Maxine: Vlad! The warrior god!
Katherine: Maxine, this is fascinating! But where would a 6000-year-old Mayan warrior learn to down-shift a Toyota?
Maxine: I know you're skeptical, but if it wasn't for Vlad I wouldn't be alive to be reunited with Neal!

Katherine: Did you say "reunited"?
Maxine: Ours has been one of the great romances throughout history! Didn't Neal tell you?
Katherine: Well, we haven't spoken in a couple of days! Would you like some more tea?
Maxine: No, thank you!
Katherine: Neal?
Neal: No, thank you!
Katherine: I think I'll get us some anyway!
Willie: I'll give you a hand!
On the way to the kitchen, Katherine turns back and takes the teapot from the dining room table. She then goes with Willie into the kitchen.
Neal: Do you like them?
Maxine: How can I like them after what they did to my village!

More dialog in the kitchen:
Alf: All right, who wants to go first?
Katherine: Alf, it's easy to criticize, but the world is made up of all kinds of different peole!
Willie: As we've seen this evening Maxine herself is made of seven or eight of them!
Alf: Still, if she marries into the family, do I have to hide from Vlad?
Katherine: Well, we'll just have to meet Vlad and make that decision then!
Alf: Hey, look at it this way: You haven't lost a brother you've gained a god!
Willie and Katherine start laughing, Alf also can barely contain his laughter - after all, Maxine in the living room must not hear him.

The US Version does not show the intro at this moment.
