Comparison between the shortened version of "Jiminy Lummox/Bass Masters", taken from the US DVD by Paramount, and the uncut version, taken from the German DVD by Turbine Classics.
2 cuts = 2 minutes and 50 seconds
The Ren & Stimpy Show is one of the most over the edge cartoon shows ever. So it's no surprise that Nickelodeon US - similar to Disney - reacted to the feedback of the audience and made a few cuts. On top of that, later broadcasts on Spike TV contained further alterations. More cuts were made and, if required, some scenes had a higher frames per second rate in order to reach the regular length for syndication. These versions are the available ones on the so-called "uncut" US-DVDs by Paramount.
Surprisingly enough, the German broadcasts back in the 90s were amlmost uncut, only a few scenes with too explicite footage were removed.
For the uncut box the comparisons have been made with, Turbine Germany used the cut (but restored) US masters and the original German versions in order to put the longest versions possible on the German DVD set. Missing scenes in the US Versions have been filled with the German version (including the German dub), missing scenes in the German versions have been filled with the US Version (and they got subtitled in German, if necessary). The result is the longest version available of every single episode.
Stimpy sits in front of the TV set. When he bends over to change the channel, Ren puts a pin on his chair and hides behind the backrest again. Stimpy sits down on it without reacting to it at all. The next time Stimpy leans over, Ren can even see the pin stuck in his bottom. Ren looks resentful and then takes some nitroglycerine, which he also puts on the chair while Stimpy is still standing up. However, even when Stimpy sits down again and the explosion blows off half of his butt he does not seem to notice it. Instead, he laughs about something on the show he is watching and Ren looks sourly again.
Stimpy then can be seen in the bathtub. Ren enters with a bucket of crabs and drops them in the tub as soon as Stimpy goes under water. Ren then goes back to his bed and waits for things to happen. Stimpy enters the bedroom completely relaxed and walks to his wardrobe. When he drops his towel, Ren and every viewer can see countless crabs hanging on his butt. Stimpy takes his fur out of the wardrobe and puts it on without even taking note of the crabs, who can still be made out under his fur afterwards. Ren's look is the same as at the end of the previous scene again.
Ren throws more stuff into the water: a complete fishing set, a harpoon, a bomb, a radar device and a cage with an agressive bear in it. Then there is a cut to Stimpy, who sits nearby. Several worms carry a basket and a beach chair to him, he throws these things into the water and then thanks the worms.
A shot of Wilbur Cobb during fishing.
Ren holds up the ladle containing the bait and says that it is weird that the stuff only contains fish intestines and headcheese, yet still fish are incredibly attracted to it. He then pours it into the water. Causing two fish to swim to them and eat/drink it using straws.
