About the movie

During a researching trip to Thailand Dr. Yuan gets struck by an curse in the attempt to save a woman before getting executed due to a ceremonial sacrifice. This curse has the effect to kill him in the upcoming days. Together with his friend Wei, a reporter and a thai fighter he wants to face the evil wizard who set up the curse on him.

This movie is a pretty crude but entertaining mixture of adventure, action, horror and fantasy movies starring Maggie Cheung and Chow-Yun-Fat.

The versions:

The release for private audiences has been slightly cut in the HK version. Directly, after Betsy can be seen, the outro is about to start which is simply covered over scenes from the epilog. The German DVD by Laser Paradies contains the same outro as the HK version but continues afterwards with a scene of Yuan and Rainbow at a party and finally the epilog with Ai Hong.
