![]() In the US Drama series Sons of Anarchy we follow the adventures of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original (SAMCRO). Jackson 'Jax' Teller, son of founding member John Teller, is the main character. The core business of SAMCRO is buying and distributing illegal weapons. When Jax's stepfather and President of the club Clarence 'Clay' Morrow intends to expand their business with drugs, the young man begins to question the club and his own values. Season 3 started to air on 09/03/2008 on FX and the ratings went through the roof. With almost 5 million viewers a week, the show had become more successful than other hit shows such as Nip/Tuck or The Shield. Creator Kurt Sutter (husband of lead actress Katey Sagal) once explained that he had enough ideas for seven seasons. Well, it looks like he's going to make it because Season 6 has started to air in September 2013 and the final Season 7 has already been confirmed. Since there's only a limited time window for TV, a few scenes needed to be cut out. In addition to the uncut TV Versions, the Blu-ray/DVD contains a few Extended Versions. For this report we compared the TV Version of the 6th episode of season 5 titled "Small World" with its Extended Version. Runtime: TV: 46:11 min. NTSC (without credits) Extended: 49:20 min. NTSC (without credits) The TV Version misses out on 3 minutes and 9 seconds: 3 additional scenes: 3 minutes and 16 seconds 2 extended scenes: 50 seconds Additional Scene in the Extended Version:
00:05:22 Clay has a date with contractor Elliott Oswald in a restaurant. They want to have breakfast together. Oswald is no longer interested in running for mayor. Clay still tries to convince him to do so. From a newspaper Oswald gets to know that SAMCRO rented a building from Jacob Hale where they want to relocate Nero's Escort Service to, after his former facilities have been yield up. 1 min. and 57 sec. Clay: "These home invasions are a goddamn nightmare." Oswald: "Yup. It's a good thing we brought the sheriffs in to assure our safety." Clay: "My point. Sheriffs don't know a shit about this town. Not like Charming P.D. did. Not like you and I do." Oswald: "Not much we can do about it." Clay: "Bullshit. Hale's only got 6 more months on his term." Oswald: "I'm not running again, Clay." Clay: "You gotta, Elliott. After this Charming Heights fiasco you're a lock." Oswald: "You sure about that? Hm? Says here Tara Knowles-Teller just applied for a commercial lease. One of Hale's properties. Jax's old lady... I'm guessing it ain't a taco stand." Clay: "Actually it is. Escorts." Oswald: "You gonna tell me Hale just handed the Sons a lease for prostitution? When did you get in bed with him?" Clay: "Jax wanted that location. He made that deal." Oswald: "And Jax is running the club, which means Jax runs the relationships." Clay: "Nah. I control the relationships in this town. Not Jax. And I guarantee you one thing. Charming ain't ever gonna become Hales-ville. I'm gonna get you elected, Elliott." Juice: "Hey. Sorry, man. You have that appointment at St. Thomas." Clay: "My nurse. You stay the course, Elliott. You stay the course."
Additional Scene in the Extended Version: 00:43:06 Damon Pope told Jax where the prison officer lives who was responsible for Opie's death. August Marks – one of Pope's employees – drives Jax, Chibs, and Bobby to his house. There, Jax takes revenge. In the Extended Version you also see Tig, Happy, and Phil burying the corpse of the prison officer and his wife in the woods. 54 sec. Tig: "That's'good." Happy: "Here." Phil: "Should we say a prayer or anything?" Tig: "Yeah. Hey, baby Jesus, here comes some shit." Happy: "Amen." Tig: "Fill in the goddamn hole."
Additional Scene in the Extended Version: 00:44:00 Juice is supposed to bring the corpse of Nero's half sister Carla to Skeeter who is at the crematorium. Inside, there's a short additional scene. 18 sec. Juice: "Now I know how Tig feels." Skeeter: "What?" Juice: "Nothing. Close it up."
