Comparision between the Italian DVD and the Uncut Version (German DVD by Donau Film).

One should not let oneself be duped by the supposed simplicity of the plot, which is certainly based in part on the vita of the central figure with an exhibitionist disposition because feelings, images and emotions have a far stronger influence on the viewer's control of his or her will, if he or she is willing to dive into the film work. The story of Cicciolina, a promising radio presenter who manages to cast a spell over masses of men through her programmes is told in splendid pictures. One of them is Riccardo who adores her so much that she gets him a job as her personal photographer. The sparse covers fall, the camera clicks, but Riccardo is too embarrassed to take any further steps. Cicciolina survives the attack of a group of fiends, thanks to the timely appearance of a rich, beautiful stranger. Julie, the rescuer in need, succumbs to her charms but Riccardos ignorance destroys togetherness. At a public performance of his beloved he finally learns an important lesson about love and life.

"Suddenly he began to undress."
- Cicciolina -

The complexity of the work lies in the strength that the seemingly detached scenes can be interpreted in different ways. The voice from the radio implies dreamlike images into the heads of her listeners in which she rides half-naked on a handsome horse, washes herself lasciviously in a river or lolls naked in mud. The influence of the voice is enormous. People fall into each other's arms, breakfast becomes an orgy in which jam is no longer smeared on bread but on naked bodies and prisoners forget their chains when they long for the woman of their dreams. The implied images manifest themselves congenially in reality when Cicciolina, instead of riding a horse, drives through the eternal city of Rome on a scooter, dressed lightly or washes herself in a fountain. Where she appears, traffic comes to a partial standstill. Like Riccardo, the viewer succumbs to the charms of Cicciolina who shamelessly pushes her dress up at every opportunity to present her intimate area. Free love against hatred and injustice in the world is propagated.

"Man, have the tits!"
- A lecherous fiend -

An attempted rape is relativized. In a shower, the dirt of evil is washed away and Cicciolina is ready for new aspects of passion. Looking forward counts, not backwards. In the unknown lies experience that first wants to be discovered. Loosened by alcohol, she falls into the arms of a woman who was not yet fully aware of her orientation. Pares cum paribus facillime congregantur (people of the same kind stick together). Cicciolina fights the prudery in which Riccardo is still caught.

"As free as nature is, so free am I."
- Cicciolina -

A further ambivalence manifests itself in Cicciolina's permanent companion, a garishly designed plush rabbit in which her innocence manifests itself, thus creating an adequate contrast to her otherwise revealing nature. The viewer's manifold emotions and mental contents as a reaction to this stuffed animal can be projected onto the main character to the same extent: Curiosity, overpresence, lightness or coloring to name a few.

"I've never seen anything like it before. It confuses me."
- Julie -

In the last scene in which Cicciolina allegorically, vividly rubs a rose, as a symbol of passion and love, up between her legs, can be interpreted in many ways. The thorns of the rose symbolize the hardness and pain of the act while the delicate blossoms stand for the beauty that fades away. A successful final image for such an important film.

"Let your lips glide over them! Yes, so!
- Cicciolina -

One must react with real shock when one realizes that even in the homeland of the blonde beauties, the film is not available in its entirety on DVD. Presumably out of sloppiness or a flawed original, an essentially important part of Cicciolina's performance in front of a culturally interested audience is missing. She lolls shamelessly in a transparent ball so that the viewer quickly falls under her spell. This flaw makes it much more difficult to enter the scene, making censorship unacceptable. Praiseworthy Donau Film has taken care of this masterpiece and presents the film in its full length. A toast to these culture lovers, thanks to whom every interested film lover can now broaden his intellectual horizon.
