After the History Channel stopped producing real history documentaries and started focussing on pseudo-scientific studies (UFOs and such) as well as pseudo documentaries (Pawn Stars) which they are very successful with by the way, they also tried out actual TV shows. The drama series Vikings is one of them and it is quite convincing. On 11/29/2017, season 5 premiered in the US (History) - the episodes are also available on Amazon. On 09/12/2017, before season 5 even premiered, season 6 was green-lit.
With season 4, the number of each has risen. While previous seasons had 10 episodes resp. season 1 had only 9 episodes, season 4 consists of 20 episodes. This is also the case with seasons 5&6. Due to the increased number of episodes, the seasons have been split up. As for the current season 5: The episodes 1-10 are scheduled to be aired from November 2017 until January 2018 and the remaining episodes 11-20 will air later on in 2018. Similar to the previous seasons, season 5 was censored for TV in the US.
Time index refers to the Extended Version
Recap only in the TV Version. The Extended Version only contains a small black screen.
TV Version 44.2 sec longer
Additional shots of Harald and Astrid.
Extended Scene TV Version
The shot starts a little earlier. As a result, one only gets to see the guy on the right raise his arm in the TV Version.
TV Version 0.7 sec longer
The distance shot of "Ivar's Slave Girl" walking straight up to him naked is slightly longer.
The subsequent shot of Ivar starts a few frames earlier in the TV Version (no screenshots).
As compensation, sad shot is longer in the Extended Version. As a result, one gets to see a little bit more nudity - anything but spectacular though.
Contentwise, the scene is identically equal but the image section differs. The reason should be obvious.
Extended Scene / Alternate Footage
The prayer is longer & there are alernate takes as well (the content of those remains identically equal though).
Two shots of Ivar are a little longer.
